The SUPERPAN project, formed by BIRKA COMPOSITES, the AIMPLAS institute and the IDEKO technology centre, aims to develop a new generation of ultra-light, multi-directional reinforced panels for application in structural transport parts.
The project will integrate automated braiding manufacturing technology with foam injection in the current PullBraiding production line and UV-assisted curing through the application of digital concepts in order to obtain an ultra-light multi-material composite suitable for the transport sector, with high productivity rates, reducing the cost and energy consumption and improving the recyclability of current composite materials.
This project is part of the Public-Private Partnership 2023 program funded by the Spanish Research Agency (AEI) and co-funded by the EU.
